To be upfront, I was no fan of his. I abhorred his stance on abortion, and there were other policies of his I strongly disagreed with. But we are all sinners, even those who go around shouting about others' sins. I leave the eternal judgment of a person to God, but I do hope for the salvation even of those who led questionable lives here on earth. Sometimes I get the impression that certain people would actually relish the damnation of those who sin publicly.
